When Kena Brashear first shared her Good Life Story, she was thriving in business while courageously navigating a breast cancer diagnosis. Today, her journey continues, marked by growth, leadership, and a renewed sense of purpose.
From Surviving to Thriving
After overcoming cancer, Kena’s life and business continued to evolve. She became a co-owner of The Muljat Group Realtors, the firm where she built her career. She also achieved one of her biggest production years, proving that even in uncertain times, it’s possible to succeed with the right mindset, support, and systems in place.
“I’m healthy. I’m active with my kids. And I get to help others grow their careers. It’s truly the best season of my life.”
The Power of Coaching At Every Stage
Kena still works with her longtime coach, a relationship she considers essential. “He’s helped me grow through every phase of life,” she says. “From recovering from cancer to stepping into ownership, he’s been there. He checks in on my heart, not just my numbers.”
Far from ‘graduating’ from coaching, Kena believes it’s more relevant now than ever. “Coaching evolves with you. It helps you meet the moment, wherever you are.”
Asking for Help and Giving It
One of Kena’s biggest personal breakthroughs? Learning to ask for help. Once fiercely independent, her experience with illness taught her the strength of vulnerability. “I had to learn how to lean on others. And now, I’m better for it, in my family life, in leadership, and in how I show up for others.”
That includes supporting women in the Buffini & Company community who are facing cancer. Coaches often connect clients to Kena for encouragement, empathy, and real talk from someone who’s been there. “It’s one of the most meaningful ways I get to give back.”
A Life of Legacy and Balance
With her son now working alongside her in the business, Kena is focused on legacy. She continues to invest in real estate, build financial stability, and guide agents at her firm through Buffini’s systems, showing them how to grow a business by referral while living a full, present life.
“I’m teaching agents how to work smarter, not harder. To build careers that support their lives, not the other way around.”
She’s also made space for personal joy, like purchasing a beach house on the island where she grew up. “We couldn’t afford a home there when I was a kid. To be able to give that to my children now… that’s full circle.”
The Five Circles in Action
Whether it’s starting each day with gratitude, protecting family time, or mentoring the next generation of real estate professionals, Kena embodies the five circles: spiritual, family, business, financial, and personal.
“I’ve learned that balance is a moving target, but with intention and support, you can live aligned with your values.”
